The most popular snorkeling area is the West Coast of Grand Cayman, the sea conditions are usually calm and the water visibility unbelievably good. (Cruise ship passengers have been known to asked if they are looking at a lake)
Devil's Grotto
Location: Off Eden Rock Diving Center, 124 South Church Street Entry: Easy down a short dive ladder into 4 feet of water. Marker Buoy: Yes the area is a marked marine park. Distance from shore: 80 yards Depth: 50 Feet. Rentals Available on site: Yes Eden Rock Diving Center has a large selection of equipment for sale or rent. This outstanding site is only a short swim from the main entry point at Eden Rock Diving Center and is a popular Scuba Diving and Snorkel Diving spot.Underwater maps of the area and information on the reef are available at the diving center.The sea floor slopes gradually from the 4 foot entry point to 15 feet then the rises to within a few feet of the surface, then drop in dramatic cliff faces to a 45 foot sand bottom. Look for Blue and Stoplight Parrotfish munching on the hard coral on the way out and Yellow tail Snapper and Sergeant majors drifting in and out of the coral on the top of the reef.
Tarpon can be spotted swimming in and out of the Caves and Tunnels, feeding on the clouds of silversides in the summer months.

Wreck of the Cali
Location: Off Diversdown and Hammerhead Bar. Entry: accessible most of the year but you should take a marker flag, this area has a lot of boat traffic. Mark Buoy: Yes
Distance from Shore: 70 Yards.Depth: 15 to 20 feet.
Rentals available on site: Yes The Cali was a motor sailing ship carrying grain and rice, she sprung a leak during bad weather and the captain beached the ship. Local rumor has it that the rice got wet and burst the seams. The hull been broken apart and all that is visible now is the bottom ribs and some small parts of the ship. It now lies in about fifteen feet of water and is easily reached from Rackham's or Hammerhead's pub on the waterfront and Diversdown.
Cemetery Beach West bay
Location: Cemetery on the left as you enter West Bay traveling north. Entry:Easy Beach entry. Marker Buoy:Yes. Distance from shore:20 to 100 Yards.Depth:15 to 40 feet. Rentals available on site:No Cemetery reef is a very popular area for snorkeling Being one of the most picturesque areas in Grand Cayman this spot should not be missed. Huge Australian Pines offer plenty of shade on the shore for the whole day at the beach. The reef is a short swim offshore and marine life is abundant, Sergeant Majors and many other colorful fish can be found on the reef and you may see a Turtle swim by.
