Fresh Air Kid From New York getting ready to Snorkel at Eden Rock
The Fresh Air Kids enjoyed learning to snorkel dive at Eden Rock Diving Center with instructor Daina Heaven.After learning how to use the equipment the party of snorkelers explored Eden Rock. Seeing a coral reef and Tropical fish for the 1st time. For the third year in a row, the Cayman Islands, Cayman Airways and The Fresh Air Fund will continue their successful partnership and provide a group of inner-city youths the trip of a lifetime to Cayman this summer. The Cayman Islands is hosting kids ranging in age from 10-12 this summer from July 27-August 2, giving them the opportunity to experience some of the most unique and exciting activities the Caribbean has to offer.
The Fresh Air Fund adolescents coming to Cayman are selected by the organization based on their achievements, their willingness to succeed and their history with the organization. Each year, the Department of Tourism works closely with The Fresh Air Fund to ensure the group experiences the warm Caymanian culture, hospitality and heritage by flying straight on Cayman Airways and visiting attractions including Stingray City, Boatswain’s Beach, Pedro St. James and QE II Botanic Park. The group will also take an adventure-filled day trip to one of the sister islands. The trip is meant to provide a one-of-a-kind opportunity to experience new things outside of New York City to kids who wouldn’t be able to visit without the generosity provided by Cayman, and the host families and private partners who help make the trip a reality.

The Fresh Air Fund is an independent, not-for-profit agency that has provided free summer vacations to more than 1.7 million New York City children from low-income communities since 1877. The organization garners extensive media coverage both in New York and on a national scale, and provides an ideal opportunity for the Cayman Islands to showcase its well-earned reputation for hospitality and warmth. The Cayman Islands Department of Tourism has been working closely with The Fresh Air Fund to prepare all who are involved for the trip ahead to ensure another successful and memorable visit to the Cayman Islands.
